Preparation:
Participants will be invited to answer a questionnaire with open ended questions related to their professional experience, the socioeconomic status of their groups, their special interests and needs, as well as any background information on the groups they work with. Some of the questions will aim to disclose information related to particular circumstances in their communities related to possibilities and opportunities. This will help the organisational team to fine-tune the programme’s tuitions and workshops to meet as many as possible of the participants’ special needs and to empower them with the knowledge and expertise they need most for their specific groups/organisations/schools.
Furthermore participants will be provided with literature relevant to the training.
Objectives:
This programme aims to equip participants with important experiential learning, essential for helping them educate their groups/pupils/teams in developing a healthy lifestyle taking into account all circumstances b it economical or cultural. The objective is to allow educators to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle so that they can further educate others. Learning about the right choices and taking specific conditions into account. Learning about food types and preparation methods. In addition to the food aspect we will also look at easy and economical ways to keep fit with “what we have” and how important the entire process is in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Methodology
The course will be spread over seven days and will include lectures and workshops dispersed by reflective group discussions and engaging participants in debates.
All parts of the programme, including lectures and workshops, will be highly interactive fostering participation and collaboration and offering participants the opportunity to use their newly acquired knowledge to develop new ideas and exchange their concerns related to the specific problems of their own communities. Case study analysis will be used encouraging participants to use cases from their own experience for group discussion and exchange good and bad practice
Handouts for each theme discussed will be disseminated. In addition, a number of video presentations will be offered on how individuals with limited education or skills can produce items or services which are saleable. Themes of the lectures and workshops will cover several areas of concern.
